Rhodoïd cellulose acetate is made in Italy from cotton. The dyed cotton is pressed into blocks in selected colour combinations and cut into slices. High-quality Alice bands and hair accessories are created from these in an elaborate process.

The wide Alice band has fine rows of teeth with softly rounded tips. These provide a secure hold without exerting unnecessary pressure on the scalp or irritating the hair.
