Rhodoïd is a sheet material made from cotton in Italy. The cotton is dyed and pressed into blocks featuring a wide variety of colour patterns. Slices are cut from these blocks and then further processed in France, in over ten stages, to create enchanting hair ornaments and accessories. The Rhodoïd hair accessory, which is produced using a labour-intensive process and is partly handmade, therefore offers the following advantages over machine-produced plastic injection-moulded items:
