Material

Rhodoïd is a sheet material made from cotton in Italy. The cotton is dyed and pressed into blocks featuring a wide variety of colour patterns. Slices are cut from these blocks and then further processed in France, in over ten stages, to create enchanting hair ornaments and hair accessories.

Packaging and dispatch

When packaging our hair accessories, we strive to strike a reliable balance between transport safety and sustainability. We therefore use only recycled paper and cardboard, as well as eco-friendly packing tape and cotton bags made from naturally renewable raw materials.

For us, Fair Trade isn’t just fundamental – it goes without saying! That’s why we’ve chosen suitable factories in Europe rather than opting for low-cost manufacturing in Asia or Eastern Europe.

It is essential to us that our hair accessories are manufactured under humane conditions, from the sourcing of raw materials right through to the finished product. Our geographical proximity allows us to gain a more detailed insight into the individual stages of production and significantly reduces transport distances, enabling us to make a substantial contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions and protecting the environment.

Our barrettes and their packaging are made predominantly from biodegradable raw materials sourced from sustainable agriculture. As our products are manufactured in Germany, France, Austria and Portugal, we can fully guarantee compliance with EU environmental standards, unlike products manufactured in Asia.
